The central conflict shifts unexpectedly when Soldier Boy attempts to kill Homelander窶冱 son, Ryan. This forces Butcher to abandon his original mission and side with Homelander to protect the boy.

In a shocking turn, Homelander kills Black Noir for withholding the truth about Soldier Boy being Homelander's biological father.

Maeve engages in a brutal fight with Homelander and ultimately tackles Soldier Boy out of the building as he begins to detonate. The blast strips Soldier Boy of his powers, and while Maeve is presumed dead, she survived without her Supe abilities.

The episode concludes with Homelander introducing Ryan to a crowd of his supporters. When a protester throws a bottle at Ryan, Homelander brutally murders the man in public.
