Adam avoids spending spring break with his mother, Beverly, by agreeing to housesit at his sister Erica's downtown apartment. However, a disastrous day exploring Philadelphia with Dave Kim makes him realize he may not be ready for city life or his upcoming move to New York City for college.

Barry becomes distressed after noticing that his friend group, the JTP (Jenkintown Posse), is beginning to show signs of aging, such as debating the merits of Tums over Gas-X. In an attempt to reclaim their youth, Barry decides to form a boy band called "The Downtown Boys".
