After you swing your weapon, your power bar drops to 0%. Wait for it to reach 100% before attacking again to deal full damage and cause knockback.

If a character hits 0 HP, they become a "Ghost." Use a Cup of Wishes to bring them back, or visit an Inn to restore the whole party.

Magic is the most powerful tool in the game. Unlike weapons, magic only levels up when used in areas with enemies. To make late-game bosses easier, spam your spells to hit the level cap for each elemental.

Your saves are typically located in Documents\My Games\Secret of Mana . It is highly recommended to back up your save file manually if you plan on experimenting with mods or hex editing.

Visit Watts the Blacksmith whenever you find a Weapon Orb (usually dropped by bosses). You must "Forge" your weapons to unlock their next level.

Unlike the original, you can now use the Auto-Save feature when moving between screens. You can also save at any Inn or by talking to Neko (the purple cat merchant).

Keep an eye out for the Magic Rope in the Gaia Lowlands; it allows you to instantly escape any dungeon, which is a life-saver if you run out of healing items.
