This free expansion is the centerpiece of the edition. Set in 42 BC, it covers the massive Roman civil war following Julius Caesar’s assassination. Players can lead one of ten playable factions—including the three members of the Second Triumvirate (Octavian, Marc Antony, and Lepidus)—across a new map comparable in scale to the main Grand Campaign.
The Emperor Edition consolidates all free content updates released since the game's original launch, including numerous bug fixes, gameplay balancing, and Mac compatibility.
The edition introduced a revamped politics system that adds depth to internal management and civil war mechanics. It also features rebalanced unit stats, overhauled building chains, and improved campaign and battle visuals.
